Projects on ActionFunder
We are so grateful to South West Water for funding our Heat Cafe project, to support the community during the cost of living crisis. We are now opening our Heat Cafe two afternoons a week and the numbers are steadily growing as people hear about the project and how yummy our food is! Food is served on a pay what you feel basis, based on what you can afford. People are enjoying coming together to eat, socialise, play games and keep warm!

The North Edinburgh Community Shed secured an award from Sir Robert McAlpine to support our work via funds for new tools, machinery and staffing. We used this staff time to work with the Shed members to build 3 large effigies for the Dusherra Festival here in Edinburgh. We have also purchased a brand new sharpening machine for our chisels and planes. The Shed are delighted to now have a full complement of sharp chisels and planes.
Thanks to all our members for making the NEA Shed what it is today!

This project helps autistic youngsters in Pembrokeshire to practise social interaction and communication in a safe and welcoming environment. The Monday Project provides experienced staffing and plenty of resources to support some of these children, ensuring that youth work is accessible (it is free of membership and admission charges) and fun for everyone. One member said: “Wow. Just wow. This place offered me a chance to socialise, express and learn when nothing else could.”

Our club is based in North/West Belfast, an area of very high social and economic deprivation. We want to promote physical fitness, affordable training, social interaction with peers, and targeting single parents. This project will fund mental awareness sessions to break down stigma & promote positive mental wellbeing, as well as a UEFA qualified coach to take fun & inclusive training sessions. It will also pay for 3G floodlight training facilities, quality equipment for training & making it free to the ladies.
